Dear Follower (singular, aka Shannon),
Aloha!
This past week I went on vacation to Kona, Hawaii with my best friend Lindsay (whose new nickname is Linda by the way) and had an overall fun time. I will say that you really get to know people when you go on vacation with them. Enlightening to say the least.
We had a perfect little house on the water. It was 3 bedrooms, had an outdoor shower, lounge chairs and a nice lawn overlooking the pacific ocean. I have never seen such incredible water in my life and I have been to Hawaii before. It is very possible that I am just more mature and able to recognize and appreciate it now. (pics to come)
Lindsay's uncle kept saying "why do people love Hawaii so much, I don't get it? It's the same as San Diego". This phrase haunts me. It is NOT like San Diego. The water is clean, the people have their own distinct culture, the air is warm day and night (even when it's raining), the tourists stand out, and it's SURROUNDED BY WATER ON ALL SIDES.
Obviously I am still bitter about that haha, but I can see what he means when he said that. San Diego is nice and all but just being in a new setting, with different type of people and a different type of 'hot' weather makes it a totally different experience than San Diego.
While we were on the dock one day there was a girl backing out of a parking spot (a "local") and a jeep almost hit her car while simultaneously backing out behind her. The first thing the local girl said was, "WTF", and her friend looked at her and goes " ohhhh, girl! That's Jessica!", and the driver replies "Oh shit haha I thought it was a tourist".
"I thought it was a tourist". Lindsay and I thought that was hilarious. In San Diego it is much harder to tell who is a tourist and who is not--unless of course they are dressed in floppy hats, crocs and donning oversized digital cameras over their shoulders.
Before I get into telling too many stories that are most likely only funny to me, here are some pictures:

View from our backyard :)
This is Marty. He sucks onto rocks. We peeled him off and put him in a tupper ware with some rocks, grass and water <3
Linda and I at the rocks outside our house
We drove on THE BUMPIEST dirt road to get here, take one picture then leave.
Foamy water
Beautiful sunlight
Sunset, day 1 at the house
"Thad" the turtle by our house
Linda and her lil brother Michael aka Mikey
This is Green Sands Beach. Can't really tell in the picture. We hiked 6 miles round trip in the blistering sun to get there.
Raining at the Volcanos. We picked up some dorky, "touristy" ponchos :D
Thad's friend Crush
Mikey & Linda, pre-wet suit
Us before the Manta Ray Night-Time Snorkel Trip!!
The water was glowing purple at sunset, I wish you could tell. I had never seen such a beautiful sight I swear.
On the boat waiting for the sun to go down so we could swim with the Mantas.
